End Of Year Exhibition Meeting

This Thursday at, 12:30 in Studio One there will be a general meeting of ALL STUDENTS from both first and second year.

As the end of year exhibition is rapidly approaching we need to organise a variety of tasks, revolving around the exhibition at Glen Eira Arts Complex.


The exhibition runs from the 31st of October to the 11th of November, 2012. Other important dates and information about the process will be delivered at the meeting on Thursday.

Assessments need to be completed as quickly as possible, both first years and second must have handed all assessable tasks in a soon as possible.

13th~16th November is the Final folio assessment for Second year students; after the end of year exhibition.



PIC Alumni, makes it Big in the USA

Andrew Boyle a former student from PIC has had one of his dreams realised and has has some of his photographs published in Vogue magazine.

In his early days, Andrew, photographed skaters and graffiti artists, progressing onto musicians and bands, now he is living and working in the USA as a photographer.


Holiday Access

Hi everybody, PIC will be open from 10:00am, on the first Tuesday of the term break, Marcus, Irene and Stuart will be on hand to help with any assignments, or other work you want to complete.


First Year Admin Tasks

This Wednesday 19TH September – Ali. Irene. and Kevin will be available in the White Room at 11am to collect any ” Networks assignments ” that as yet, have not been handed in.
This is the last opportunity to do so.

Last year, 2011, some students were not awarded the Certificate IV in photoimaging simply because they have not completed their ” Network assignments”.
So this is your last chance to make sure you get the work submitted and make sure you are able, to receive your certificate.


  1. Work In progress will start at 10 am not 11am this week as previously advertised. Equipment you may wish to borrow over the Holidays, will be handed out this Friday 21st September . ( after the WIP is completed )
  2. Holidays – Marcus, Stuart, Irene will be here at pic from 10am till 3 pm. Only on the first Tuesday 25th September ( week one of the term holidays ). – Staff will leave soon after 3pm.

Term 4

  • As of week one Term 4 the ” white room ” will be set up for mounting work using 18″ x 14″ Mount board.
  • If you missed this class Kevin will be doing another demonstration in the White room – Week One 11am Tuesday 9th October.

Work in progress reviews

First years are reminded that this week is work in progress review week, please have your prints ready. Group 1 on Thursday from 10:00am onwards and groups 2 and three on Friday from 10:00 am onwards. There will be a short break on Friday at around lunchtime, to allow student to collect equipment from the store.


Term Break News

Sadly due to unforeseen circumstances, PIC will NOT be opening over the holidays this break.


Arrangements for Thursday the 7th of June

This Thursday there will be no formal classes for First Year Students or Second Year digital either.
Staff will be attending a State wide teachers meeting called by the Australian Education Union.
Subsequently there will be limited staff available here at pic on that day.

Students in Group One were due to have a WORK IN PROGRESS this Thursday 7th June.

We have assessed the situation, and given the circumstances.
Friday is Group One’s Prac Day so we have deceided to combine Groups One Two & Three the next day – Friday 8th June.

This arrangement will allow the Work in Progress for ALL First Year Groups to proceed.
The Starting time for WIP on Friday will be 9.30 Sharp. Half of group 1 will join Group 2 with Irene and Marcus in Studio One.
The other half of Group 1 will join Group 3 with Ali and Kevin in the white room.

We are aware that one or two individuals in group One may have part time work commitments on Fridays.
If you do have work commitment on this Friday, email your folio teacher/s and keep them informed please.
