Some Fashion Photography Advice

2007-09-17 — posted by at 03:18

For those of you thinking of heading down the fashion path, a Sydney Based Fashion Photographer and friend of mine has some good advice, and a nicely designed website check it out.

This Thursday from 10:00am Kevin, will run a toning class, and Friday from 9:30, Marcus will run his last class in toning for 2007, if there is demand there MAY be another in term 4. This will be your last chance to do it this year, if you miss out on this learning outcome, you will need to do it next year.

End of term stuff

Yes folks it’s that time of year again. It is the last week of the term. Term 3 in fact. Friday then sees the raffle at 2:00pm; AFTER the facility is cleaned up, after the raffle is conducted the school will be closed. Virginia asks, that ALL equipment be returned ASAP, as well.

Term Break

Marcus and I will be opening the facility for ONE DAY during the 1st week of the holidays from 10:00am to 4:00pm. Wednesday the 26th of September is when we will both be in, hope to see you there, at this point ALL areas will be open, except there wil be no toning. This could however change as machines don’t give us any warnings as to when they don’t want to work any more.

Attention Budding Fashion Photographers

2007-07-07 — posted by at 00:21

I have been contacted by a guy who is involved in a new fashion label. He is after a “volunteer” to help launch his label. Here’s the message I received.

My name is Josh, and I am the business partner in Melbourne Fashion Label called Inksoffjohn. Being a new label, and approaching our first season, we are hoping to procure the services of a volunteer photographer to help us with our photography requirements:
model shoot
look book

We are looking to get someone for the end of July, and if you support this kind of activity for your students, if you could send a bulletin to those students you deem suitable, we would really appreciate your help. We also have a documentary being made about us, so there will be some extra publicity for the student involved as well.

Contact me if you are interested

Must see exhibition.

Fashion Face: Fashion photography by Robyn Beeche 1979-1989
2 March – 21 April 2007.

Based in London throughout the 80’s, Australian photographer Robyn Beeche’s photographic style moved from the realm of straight fashion photography into that of high art, melding make-up and costuming to create fantastical tableaux and exotic narratives.
