2015-08-20 — posted by at 15:15

The Ballarat International Foto Biennale (BIFB) is a month-long festival of contemporary Australian and international photography.

Held every two years in the beautiful and historic city of Ballarat, the BIFB presents two major exhibition programs. The BIFB Core Program is a curated exhibition of 20 leading photographic artists, while the BIFB Fringe Program is an open-entry presentation by more than 200 artists. Our exhibitions are staged in more than 80 venues across Ballarat, including historic buildings, cafes, galleries, and public spaces.

The BIFB continues to grow, contributing over $1.4m to the local community. So far, over 150,000 photography lovers have attended our exhibitions, workshops and events.

Exhibitions are complemented by an extensive program for photographers of all levels. This includes an integrated program of workshops, seminars, audio-visual projections, master classes, artist talks, portfolio reviews, and photographic competitions.

The 2015 edition of the festival will open on 22nd August and runs until 20th September 2015. We look forward to welcoming you.

Info for BSG exhibition

When writing the size of your work, either place the size (in cm) of the image if you are selling it as is without the frame, or place the size (in cm) of the frame if you are selling the image as a whole with the frame.

Final works must be submitted to the college on Tuesday the 7th of June! on the back of each of your works you must have one of the labels attached stating;

  • Your name
  • Title
  • Medium
  • Size in cm
  • Price

This is all very important as we can only identify your work as yours and apply the correct label if you have a copy of the label attached to the back of your work.

Please co – operate as this will only come together if everyone pulls their own weight. Also today is the last day for handing in your labels so that they get printed in time. you have till 5 pm!If you have any queries please email jessicaapap @ live . com . au

Enjoy yourselves out there folks, be good, if you can’t be good be careful.

On a more serious note, Head On Photo festivasl will be looking for entries next year, head on over to their website, and have a look, see if you can’t get a portrait in the show.

Next Year, 2011, also sees the Bi-annual Photo Bienalle at Ballarat return, get involved, and keep your eyes and ears open as there will be excursions to the festival while it is on.

Again all the best for your holidays, and a happy new year to you all.
