PIC staff in the news

2017-10-08 — posted by at 11:22

To celebrate the launch of SBS’s new drama series, Sunshine, SBS partnered with CCP and Brimbank City Council to give people a chance to tell the story of their community through photographs. Whether they work, live or study in Sunshine, or have a strong connection to the suburb, the participants undertook a series of workshops to help prepare them to create a series for exhibition.

Congratulations to the winners: Stuart Murdoch, Deng Amad, Paul Ambler, Wally Elnour, Shannyn Lee Ducret, Piath Mathiang,  Anh Phan and Rachel Pocock!

Across a series of three workshops, under the guidance CCP tutor, Linsey Gosper and photographers, Ben King and Atong Atem, participants developed their unique story through powerful imagery.

The Sunshine photography project exhibition will be held from 17 October—30 November, at the Brimbank Community and Civic Centre, Level 1, 301 Hampshire Road, Sunshine.

We have added a new page to our website to help you learn about photography. It is a page dedicated to photographic terminology. Photography has a unique technical language which can at time be confusing to new comers, our list of terms is intended to ease this. If you have any additions or suggestions for our page please contact us and let us know.

img_7242-version-2Join dozens of photography students as they learn the value of a single, well-composed shot. Developing your own pictures will improve your skills with digital cameras.

You have to be considerate of the tones that you are photographing. Seeing the process that you need to take to get the perfectly exposed photograph on analogue probably makes you more considerate in digital.

Like Deakin University and RMIT, we offer extensive training using analogue equipment and materials.

Apply now to become a great all round photographer.
